Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and encourage them to take the first step to try new experiences that previously were considered beyond their reach. It is also our goal to educate their able bodied peers to enable them both to live together with new respect and understanding.

The Door In The Wall, Inc. was founded in 1994. Jennifer Blair (shown skiing at All Can Ski)contracted spinal meningitis when she was 2 months old and uses a wheelchair for her primary mobility. DITW was started to share resource information with other families that deal with disability on a day-to-day basis. We have events that happen every year. The only year we were unable to hold our events was during Covid. We are a dedicated bunch that all have family members that are benefiting from the experiences and camaraderie.

When this program was started, many years ago, there wasn't anything fun for a young disabled person in a wheelchair to do. Our family loved to fish, be on the lake or by the ocean. So we figured out how to include our daughter in many of our activities. They were not "special", they were mainstream events that able bodied people loved too. That was the key. Being able to fish, ride a horse, ski, swim, kayak. Why, everyone loves to do those things and so began our mission to make it possible for others. Life long, beautiful memories. We hope you'll join us.

The Door In The Wall's Ebay store made it possible to raise money for our events. We had a collection of vintage, American made knives to start out. Now, in addition, we have many other items that have been donated to us. We list them on our store for the world to see. We have sold our items to many countries, far and wide as well as right here in our back yard. We hope you'll visit and maybe purchase an item in lieu of a donation. We appreciate your support
